Set up 2002 by co-founders Lynne Rothwell, Val Lepedat & Denise Duun, to provide an uplifting environment when patients feel vunerable and uncertain about their futre. Not everyone feel they can fully express thier worries, concers & fears to family and friends and a small group had a vision of a free service that would help cancer patients feel better. Pysically and emotionally.
After much discussion and fundraising the Aurora centre was founded. Operating from a small room within the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary as a charity within the NHS, we are now a standalone charity able to support the local community with a wider reach.
Our extensively trained and experienced therapists provide support and care that is both mainstream and clinically safe. You can visit our centres, share your feelings in confidence in a safe, relaxing environment.
Your cancer journey is just that, yours. So call us when you need to. Some people visit us during their treatment, some people visit after some during and after. We offer a wide range of advice including skin care and hair loss. Our services help boost self-esteem and self confidence.
The free package consists of six beauty treatments, two carer treatments, two hair appointments and free access to the Wellbeing programme.
Our centres also host a Headstrong service, offering information and support on hair loss from cancer related treatment.
