The Aurora Wellbeing Centre's offer a free package of Beauty Treatments and support to local patients, both men and women, helping them to face the world with confidence, through one of the most difficult times of their life.
Set up in 2002 by co-founders Lynne Rothwell, Val Lepedat & Denise Dunn, to provide an uplifting environment when patients feel vulnerable and uncertain about the future.
The first Aurora Centre was set up in the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and continues to thrive today. Initially supported by Doncaster NHS we are now a standalone charity supporting the local community.
The free treatment package currently consists of six free beauty treatments, two free carer beauty treatments two free hair appointments and free access to the Wellbeing programme. We also host a Headstrong service within our centers, run by the Breast Cancer Care advisory service. This offers information and support on hair loss due to cancer treatment.
Our extensively trained and experienced therapists provide support and care that is mainstream and clinically safe. Come to one of our centres share your feelings with us in a relaxing environment while we help support you and make you feel good.
You can take advantage of our centers at any point in your cancer journey; we offer a wide range of professional beauty treatments including advice on skin care and hair loss, to help boost self-esteem and self-confidence whilst undergoing and recovering from your related treatments of cancer.
As much as we pride ourselves in offering such a unique service, as a charity we are growing in size and in ethic; with cancer survival rates at an all-time high, we have identified that more emphasis should be placed upon survivorship and living with cancer and other long-term conditions. We offer support, promte a healthy wellbeing and quality of life, and encourge people who use our services to be active participants in their own recovery and thereafter.
