The Heritage and Health project will see the creation of a Virtual Museum which will eventually reunite some of the collections from the former Worksop Museum in virtual form. The content of the museum will be created by you and will be an important part of the 'Heritage Hub' at the Old Library and Museum building when it opens.
We do not have access to the Worksop Collection during this time but we can make a start with objects and records we cherish at home. We are launching our Virtual Museum (at home) Project to create a virtual 'Aurora Collection' of objects and their stories for others to share, learn from and enjoy.
Virtual Musuem (at home) Project
We invite you to add your own favourite or meaningful object to our Virtual Museum.
I want to get involved but I'm not sure what object to include.
I have chosen my object, now what do I do?
Step 1. Take a photograph of your object. (Choose its best side)
Step 2. Help people understand the importance of the object to you, your life and/or your family. Write your own personal narrative - in other words tell its story and your connection to it.
Step 3. Make a record of any other known information. Object name. A short description of its appearance. What condition is it in? What material is it made from? Who made it? What year was it made? Where was is bought from? You may also want to do extra research.
Step 4. Send the photograph of your object, its story and other information to us and we will add it to the Virtual Museum on this website for others to enjoy.
You don't have to include any personal details with your submission but please note that if you send your object photograph and stories to us you are agreeing for their use on the website and they may be shared more widely.
How do I send the photograph and story to you?
Please email your photographs and stories to Ruthie Boys at heritage@aurorawellbeing.org.uk
I would like to do more, what else could I do?
